Professional Experience

Sellowrap Industries Limited

Assistant Manager — QA & QMS

November 2013 — Present

IATF 16949:2016, ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 certified Tier 1 manufacturer of plastic injection moulding, PU moulding, die-cut foam and PE film components. Primary customer is Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (MSIL), with additional programmes for JLR, JBM, PSA, Nissan, SMG, Volkswagen, Mahindra and Renault Nissan.

Quality Assurance

  • Lead end-to-end QA activities across supplier, internal and customer ends for Tier 1 automotive parts, with majority focus on MSIL (Maruti Suzuki) programmes.
  • Lead external audits (IATF, VSA, Revalidation, New Supplier, Process) and internal audits (System, Product & Process).
  • Study new drawings; evaluate RM, test requirements and critical characteristics for new and ECN parts.
  • Submit complete PPAP / ANPQP documentation through OEM portals — Maruti Suzuki Extranet (MSX), MSETU and Renault Nissan Portal — for new and engineering-change parts, ensuring on-time approval for MSIL programmes.
  • Set up new part lines with lean manufacturing principles and install firewall inspection stations.
  • Drive inspection-gauge concepts and low-cost automation initiatives in process.
  • Conduct supplier audits and ensure raw-material conformity; drive corrective action with suppliers on non-conformities.
  • Analyse defects/returns and submit structured problem analysis reports (8D, A3, CAPA) to customers; respond to MSIL SQA / Customer Complaints (CC) and drive horizontal deployment across similar parts.
  • Coordinate with MSIL SQA team for line trials, supplier visits, MDR/NTI activities and customer end-of-line concerns; close field issues through structured root-cause analysis.
  • Build monthly Pareto-based action plans (80:20) on top defects; drive daily short-term countermeasures with line teams.
  • Organise quality month, kaizen events and quality circles to build a culture of built-in quality.

Incoming Material Inspection & Testing

  • Plan and execute incoming-material testing for raw materials and bought-out components against approved specifications, drawings and customer norms before release to production.
  • Conduct tensile strength and elongation testing on plastic, foam and film samples using calibrated tensile testers; verify against material datasheets and OEM standards.
  • Perform density checks on PU foam and moulded parts to ensure conformity to part-specific density bands and prevent downstream functional failures.
  • Carry out water leak / immersion testing on sealing and barrier parts to validate joint integrity, porosity and end-use water-tightness.
  • Conduct flammability testing as per FMVSS 302 on interior automotive components (foam, film, fabric and trim) and maintain test certificates for OEM submission.
  • Perform adhesive bond / peel strength testing on die-cut foam, tape-backed and laminated parts to confirm adhesion meets customer pull-off and ageing requirements.
  • Maintain incoming-inspection records, control plans and rejection notes; drive supplier corrective action (8D / CAPA) on non-conforming lots.

Quality Management System

  • Own document control procedures for approval, review and updates of critical QMS documents under IATF 16949:2016, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
  • Plan and organise internal quality audits (System, Process, Product & Layered Process Audits) and drive NCR closure across departments.
  • Maintain MRM, MIS and MOM records with customers and suppliers for transparent governance.

Education

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering — IASE University, Rajasthan
  • 12th (Senior Secondary) — National Board
